The Journal of Mental Health and Substance Abuse expects authors to conduct and report research responsibly and honestly. Manuscripts must represent genuine scholarly work and should not contain fabricated, falsified, or deliberately misleading information.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that:
- Research is conducted according to applicable ethical and professional standards.
- Data and results are reported accurately.
- Sources and previously published work are appropriately acknowledged.
- The manuscript is original and has not been submitted simultaneously to another journal.
- Ethical approval is obtained where required.
- Appropriate consent is obtained from research participants where applicable.
- Any conflicts of interest are disclosed.
- Funding and other sources of support are transparently reported.
The journal may investigate concerns relating to research or publication misconduct and may take appropriate editorial action when concerns are substantiated.
