Transactions on Engineering and Computer Science

1. Introduction

Transactions on Engineering and Computer Science is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research and scholarly contributions across engineering, computer science, information technology, and related interdisciplinary fields.

The journal aims to provide a platform for researchers, engineers, academics, and industry professionals to disseminate advances in theoretical research, experimental studies, computational methods, technological development, and practical engineering applications.

Authors are encouraged to submit original and technically sound manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of engineering and computer science or demonstrate meaningful applications of existing technologies and methodologies.

2. Article Types

• Research Articles – Original research presenting significant theoretical, experimental, computational, or applied findings.
• Review Articles – Comprehensive and critical analyses of recent developments and existing literature in a specific area of engineering or computer science.
• Short Communications – Concise reports of novel findings, preliminary research, emerging technologies, or technically significant results.
• Technical Notes – Brief articles describing new techniques, algorithms, methodologies, software approaches, engineering designs, or improvements to existing technologies.
• Case Studies – Detailed analyses of engineering projects, systems, implementations, industrial applications, or technological solutions that provide useful technical or practical insights.

3. Manuscript Preparation

• Title – The title should be concise, informative, and clearly reflect the main subject of the manuscript. Avoid unnecessary abbreviations.
• Author Information – Provide the full names, institutional affiliations, and contact details of all authors. The corresponding author must be clearly identified.
• Abstract – Manuscripts should include an abstract of up to 250 words summarizing the purpose, methodology, principal findings, and conclusions of the study.
• Keywords – Authors should provide 4–6 keywords that accurately represent the main topics of the manuscript.

4. Manuscript Structure

Research manuscripts should generally follow the structure below:

• Introduction – Provide relevant background, identify the research problem or knowledge gap, and clearly state the objectives of the study.
• Materials and Methods / Methodology – Describe the methods, experimental procedures, computational techniques, algorithms, datasets, system architecture, or engineering approaches in sufficient detail to allow the work to be understood and, where possible, reproduced.
• Results – Present the main findings clearly using appropriate text, tables, figures, equations, or other forms of technical presentation.
• Discussion – Interpret the results, discuss their significance and limitations, and compare the findings with relevant previously published research.
• Conclusion – Summarize the principal findings, technical contributions, potential applications, and, where appropriate, directions for future research.
• Acknowledgements – Authors may acknowledge individuals or organizations that contributed to the work but do not meet the criteria for authorship.
• Funding – Authors must disclose all sources of financial support. If no funding was received, authors should state: “The authors received no specific funding for this work.”
• Conflict of Interest – Authors must disclose any financial, professional, or personal relationships that could potentially influence the work.

5. Figures, Tables, and Equations

Figures, tables, diagrams, and equations should be presented clearly and should contribute directly to the understanding of the manuscript.

Figures should be of sufficient resolution and quality for publication. Each figure and table must have a descriptive caption and should be cited in numerical order within the manuscript.

Tables should be provided in an editable format rather than as images.

Mathematical equations should be clearly formatted, sequentially numbered where appropriate, and all variables and symbols should be defined when first introduced.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted figures, tables, diagrams, or other material from previously published sources.

6. Software, Source Code, and Datasets

For manuscripts involving software, algorithms, simulations, machine learning models, or computational experiments, authors should provide sufficient methodological information to allow readers to understand and evaluate the work.

Where appropriate, authors are encouraged to provide information regarding:

• Software and version used
• Programming languages and major libraries or frameworks
• Dataset sources and access information
• Model or algorithm parameters relevant to reproducibility
• Source code or repository information, where publicly available

Proprietary or confidential information is not required to be publicly disclosed where legal, commercial, security, or ethical restrictions apply. Any relevant restrictions should be clearly stated in the manuscript.

7. Ethical Considerations

Research involving human participants, personal data, or other ethically sensitive information must comply with applicable institutional, national, and international ethical standards.

Where ethical approval is required, authors should provide the name of the approving institution or ethics committee and relevant approval information.

Research involving personal or identifiable data must comply with applicable privacy and data-protection requirements.

Authors must also disclose any conflicts of interest that could influence the interpretation or presentation of the research.

8. Publication Ethics Standards

The journal is committed to maintaining high standards of integrity in scholarly publishing.

The journal follows the principles and guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in addressing publication-ethics matters.

Fabrication or falsification of data, plagiarism, duplicate publication, inappropriate image manipulation, citation manipulation, and other forms of research or publication misconduct are not acceptable.

Suspected ethical concerns may be investigated by the editorial office in accordance with applicable publishing standards.

9. Authorship Criteria

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the work.

Authors should have:

• Made a substantial contribution to the conception, design, execution, analysis, or interpretation of the work;
• Participated in drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content;
• Approved the final version for publication; and
• Agreed to be accountable for their contribution to the work.

Individuals who contributed to the research but do not meet the criteria for authorship may be acknowledged in the Acknowledgements section.

10. Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies may be used to assist with language, readability, coding, data processing, or other aspects of manuscript preparation where appropriate. However:

• AI tools cannot be listed as authors.
• Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and validity of the submitted work.
• Authors should appropriately disclose the use of generative AI when it has materially contributed to manuscript preparation or research methodology.
• AI-generated or AI-assisted results must be appropriately verified by the authors.
• Authors must ensure that the use of AI tools does not violate confidentiality, copyright, privacy, or research-ethics requirements.

The use of standard spelling, grammar, reference-management, or basic editing tools generally does not require disclosure.

11. Data Availability and Reproducibility

Authors are encouraged to include a Data Availability Statement describing whether and how the data supporting the findings of the study can be accessed.

Where appropriate and legally permissible, datasets, source code, computational models, and other research materials should be deposited in recognized repositories or made available through appropriate supporting information.

If data cannot be shared because of confidentiality, commercial, security, privacy, or other legitimate restrictions, the reason should be stated.

12. Plagiarism and Originality

Submitted manuscripts must represent original work and must not have been published previously or be simultaneously under consideration by another journal.

Submissions may be screened using similarity-detection software.

Manuscripts containing plagiarism, substantial unattributed material, inappropriate duplication, fabricated or falsified content, or other serious integrity concerns may be rejected. Concerns identified after publication may result in correction, retraction, or other appropriate editorial action.

13. Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening to assess their relevance to the journal's scope, basic scientific and technical quality, originality, presentation, and compliance with journal policies.

Manuscripts considered suitable for further evaluation are sent for peer review.

The journal follows a single-blind peer-review process, in which the identities of reviewers are not disclosed to the authors.

The final editorial decision is made by the Handling Editor after consideration of the reviewers' recommendations, the scientific and technical quality of the manuscript, and the journal's editorial policies.

14. Article Processing Charges (APC)

Transactions on Engineering and Computer Science follows an open-access publishing model to ensure that published research is freely accessible to readers worldwide.

An Article Processing Charge (APC) of USD 350 is applicable to accepted manuscripts. The APC is charged only after successful peer review and acceptance. There is no submission fee.

The journal may offer partial waivers or APC reductions in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the Editorial Office.

Importantly, payment of an APC does not influence the peer-review process or editorial decision.

15. Corrections and Retractions

The journal is committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record.

Corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, or other post-publication notices may be issued when necessary.

Cases involving potential research or publication misconduct will be evaluated in accordance with applicable journal policies and recognized publication-ethics guidance.

16. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright in their published work.

Articles are published on an open-access basis under the license specified by the journal. The applicable license and its terms should be clearly displayed on the published article.

Authors are responsible for obtaining necessary permissions for any copyrighted material reproduced in their manuscripts.

17. References

The journal follows the Vancouver referencing style.

References should be numbered consecutively in the order in which they first appear in the text.

18. Submission Process

Manuscripts can be submitted through the journal's online submission system available on the Gnoscience website or through the journal's designated editorial email address.
